This is an oil painting of my sister with her violin. This piece was really a challenge for me given that I was aiming for a more impressionist feel. I really consider this piece a new milestone on my journey through art. I know the media... now I need to learn how to bend it to my will.
Edit: Wow a daily deviation! Thanks so much `PurpelBlur and thanks to everyone else for the faves and what not, I appreciate your support!

A poetic capture of the relationship between a musician and violin.
Extremely good, and detailed drawing of a woman holding her violin. She nearly looks real! One thing you need to improve is the way you shaded her neck. It looked as if she was too hot, and going red!! Apart from that though, the hair must have been one of the things you spent most time on, as it looks pretty much the best thing! The dress even looks like fabric!! Her hand look very boney, but I cannot tell if you wanted that or not. The violin looks authentic!! Carry on with these wonderful drawings! They impress everyone! I'm sure!
Well thank you. Indeed she is, she's got natural pretty blonde hair and big blue eyes! I get jealous sometimes. Heehee. She's a real sweetie though, and still loves music!
I have a very good instructor who taught me how to use oil paints. She definitely taught me well.
